Houtwarming
Art education project at primary schools Spaarndammerhoutschool and Wereldschool Amsterdam, developed and realized in collaboration with Dominique van Egeraat in 2016.
This project took place in the new residential area De Houthavens in Amsterdam. Children from two new schools examined together with local artists and residents what is involved in setting up a new empty space in the city, and what role art can play in this. After three weeks of exploration, the project ended with an exhibition of the research, and a performance by the pupils where everyone from the neighborhood was welcome. The main aim of this project was to link the two primary schools more closely with each other and with the new neighborhood.
